Gregory A. Fields Joins NACoA
The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACoA) is pleased to announce that Gregory A. Fields, MA, has joined NACoA as Vice President – Operations and Development. For the past three years, Mr. Fields has been President and Senior Advisor to Philanthropy Directions International, a consultancy firm he managed with two co-partners that served non governmental agencies and organizations with clients on four continents.
From 2002 – 2006, Fields was Managing Director of the Washington DC based Global Fund for Children, where he had overall responsibility for operations and for grants management, as well as assisting with board development and financial planning. The organization focuses on international giving and, under Mr. Fields, the grant portfolio grew from less than $150,000 annually to more than $3 million directed to groups in over fifty countries. Previously, Fields was Director of Development with the American Refugee Committee in Minneapolis.
Fields is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Rutgers College, where he was a Henry Rutgers Scholar and elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his MA from the University of Notre Dame, where he also did additional post graduate studies.
In welcoming Mr. Fields to NACoA, Sis Wenger, its President and CEO, commented that “Growing numbers of children and families are being adversely impacted by alcohol and drug use in their families. Now, more than ever, NACoA needs to broaden the base, expertise, and areas of experience of its senior staff in order to meet the needs of hurting children and families – in our military, in our schools, our faith communities and our courts. Greg Fields’ background and insights are particularly welcomed at this time and will help to fill the gap in senior leadership created by the increased demand for NACoA’s programs, products, training and advocacy for children and families.”
